Rick Sanchez Keeps Twitter Account

I blogged about the issues raised by the departing employee who has a Twitter account that may have some value ("Can a Departing Employee Take Her Twitter Account With Her?").  A quick update to the post - it looks like Sanchez did get to keep his Twitter account after all.  (h/t TweetSmarter)

Center Network reports:
about a week ago, the @ricksanchezcnn account was moved to a new Twitter account, @ricksancheznews. Based on his counts, it looks like everything was transferred over to the new account. The old Twitter account points to the new account although I am unsure who “owns” the @ricksanchezcnn account at this time. Sanchez does appear to be actively using the new Twitter account. It’s a good deal for Sanchez as he gets to start with a Twitter account with a base of followers rather than starting from scratch.
There you have it.  I still think the scenario raises some gray area issues that are best addressed by contractual provisions, but it's interesting to see how things played out in this case.
