Vying for Attention
This interesting Washington Post piece (reg. required) asks several questions. The premise of the story is that a nationally acclaimed classical musician offers to play out of uniform for an hour in a DC subway station. Will people stop to recognize him? If so, how many? How much money will he make?
Do you have time for beauty? Shouldn't you? What's the moral mathematics of the moment?I won't spoil the article by describing the conclusions. The funniest part was seeing how the actual reality stacked up against a prediction by an expert.
