Are You Sure You Want to Send This Message?
Charles Bremant [Seattle Times] highlights a product that in theory sounds like a corporate email lifesaver:
As described by MessageGate, SenderConfirm aims to "stop unauthorized email usage". I guess it could be nothing more than something like your virus protection which runs on top of your email program/server which flags inappropriate words. In this context it will probably make the sender perform that gut check that is often sorely needed. In the workplace, we all know it is wrong to distribute secrets to competitors, waste company resources or spend half the day at the water cooler. Or this was true before e-mail took over the corporate world.
While measuring proper behavior may seem obvious to some, Bellevue-based MessageGate offers something designed to let people know if they are operating outside the lines.
SenderConfirm, a program for businesses, is configured by companies to flag certain content and behavior. The flagged message is returned to the sender, who must approve its content again before it is transmitted.
