You've Got Mail -- NOT

Radar expresses its unhappiness with AOL, and in particular with the Abercrombiesque model used to push AOL email:
See this woman-like creature (right)? The one with the lantern jaw, who seems to have wandered out of 1976, in her sad, cowl-neck sweater and shapeless Allman Brothers hair, and bumbled into our millennium? Believe it or not, this is the image that America Online has chosen to personify its e-mail subscribers. I know this because every time I try to sign onto AOL via Safari or Foxfire, she pops up on the welcome screen as if to say, "Oh hi, good neighbor! Welcome back to my uncool, anachronistic world! Want to play PONG?"

Listen, AOL: This woman does not personify me. Or anyone I would want to know.

Meanwhile, over at Lifehacker, Gmail, Why Hath Thou Foresaken Me?

As for Yahoo, I'm not even sure what to say, except that their new platform is NOT terrifically user friendly.
