And a question. But first the links:

3. DWB: Do Blackberry Users Put Others at Risk? [Techdirt] That one's pretty easy. See here ("BlackBerry tapping causes car-crunching chain reaction on I 5").
4. Data Breaches: TJ maxxx is the winner of the "Most Credit Card Data Leaked Contest". [Techdirt]

6. Send to a Friend. Some notes on Refer-a-Friend programs. The notes illustrate why these programs can be tricky under CAN-SPAM and other rules. [Email Insider]
Finally, the question: do you ordinarily send an email acknowledging receipt of an email or fax? I'm thinking of a situation where you tell someone on Thursday afternoon that you need a certain document. The person faxes you the document on Friday morning. Upon receipt of the fax, do you send a one sentence email saying "Thanks, I received the document."?
I get antsy when I send someone an email or a fax, and they don't acknowledge receipt. Especially if it's someone I don't have a long standing relationship with. On the flip side, that's just one more email to be managed. Where is the line appropriately drawn?
