I agree with the article that behavioral changes are required, but I personally think the traditional "cordless telephone" is a clunky device anyway. Either you are making a call with your mobile phone, or you are near your computer and should have no problem using your laptop/desktop.
I say go Skype!
The company is offering a half-price subscription to those who sign up before Jan. 31 [$15/year?].The beauty of Skype is two fold: (1) it allows for easy one click dialing (something which Skype will further exploit I'm sure); and (2) it's easy to set up a functional wireless headset (in my experience easier and cheaper than with a normal telephone). [I recommend the Plantronics 510-USB.]
