Social Notes

One of the benefits of blogging in my opinion is that it puts you in touch with people - this sounds trite, but bloggers have some sort of loose kinship.  I always enjoy meeting and chatting with bloggers.  Here are a few on and off-line connections in the recent past:

1. INTA - this is a yearly trademark conference, which took place this time in Seattle.  I got to meet Marc Randazza of the Satyricon (he is every bit as outspoken as you would expect from reading his blog - fun to hang with).  I also attended the Blogger Bash thrown by Graham & Dunn.  Thanks to Mike Atkins (Seattle Trademark Lawyer) for the invite!  This was a great event, and I got a chance to chat with old school trademark bloggers such as John Welch (The TTABlog), Martin Schwimmer (The Trademark Blog), and Ron Coleman (Likelihood of Confusion).  I also chatted with .ed (Blawg Review), Cathy Gellis, Enrico Schaefer (Greatest American Lawyer), Jessica Stone Levy (Beauty Marks), Cigar Law (who hopefully found a place to smoke in Seattle), and others.

2. Charon QC - I did a podcast with Charon QC (exercise buff and Rioja drinker).  This was fun, and CQC has a good sense of humor.  Half the time was spent with me cracking up.  Here was Geeklawyer's reaction to one of my comments to Charon (I said I was nervous as to what my clients would think since I was following Geeklawyer on Twitter).  The law is too serious.  You have to keep a sense of humor about it!  Those guys definitely seem to.

3. 22 Tweets - I also had a chance to chat with Lance Godard who put together 22 questions.  His 22 tweets is a fun way to get a look at lawyers on twitter.  Here are my questions/answers.  Here's his site, where you can follow upcoming interviews.  Check it out.
